Visharada Dr Mahinda Tennekoon, a senior pupil of late Maestro Sunil Shantha will present his concert  “Mewan Pitisare” (Rustic surroundings) a tribute to his master at the National Education Institute auditorium, Maharagama on Sunday 21 August commencing at 6.00 p.m.
“Mevan Pitisare” is also one of Sunil Shantha’s most popular hits across all generations.
This is his fifth commemorative concert for the master.
Tennekoon said “All my previous concerts were held in Colombo and this time I decided to have it in an area closer to my home Kalalgoda.”
The repertoire of songs chosen for the concert relates to rustic life and some of the songs are Tennekoon’s own. Entrance is free.
