President Maithripala Sirisena said that if the previous government had governed the country properly its members, curently in the Opposition, would not have had to hoof it until they got blisters on their soles.

Addressing a meeting at the Mawanella Pradeshiya Sabha auditorium on Friday, where 50 computers were donated to Pirivenas and Churches in the area, President Sirisena said that though some people were simply walking without knowing where they were going, the government was moving towards its development goals.

The previous government had boasted of mega development while plunging the country into debt to the tune of Rs. 90 billion, the President said.

Ministers Kaabir Hashim, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Rauf Hakeem, former Minister Athauda Seneviratne and State Minister Champika Premadasa were present.
