Sri Lankan President Maitripala Sirisena is likely to reach Tirumala – the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara on Saturday. According to a communiqué from the State government, the President is scheduled to reach the town at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
After an overnight stay, the President and his entourage are likely to participate in the Suprabhata seva inside the hill temple in the wee hours of Sunday. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Deputy Executive Officer (Reception) Harindranath confirmed the receipt of the communiqué. Tirupati SP (Urban) Jaya lakshmi when contacted said that even though she had information about the arrival of the dignitary she was yet to receive any confirmation. In view of Mr. Sirisena’s visit, the Chittoor district police have embarked on providing foolproof security arrangements.
